| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo describe el auge y el declive de la fábrica pionera de la industria escobera en el municipio metropolitano de Cadereyta Jiménez, La Aldeana. Fue fundada en 1892 por el comerciante y político local Eugenio Serrano. Debido a la activación del mercado local por la llegada del ferrocarril en esos años, logró sortear las barreras comerciales sosteniéndose incluso durante la época revolucionaria. Su punto más álgido lo tuvo en la década de los años veinte, lo-grando conquistar premios regionales, nacionales e internacionales. Sin embargo, para la década de los cincuenta la fábrica empezó su declive, debido principalmente al manejo de las finanzas. Su cierre llevó a inscribir su nombre en la memoria local, mientras que cientos de pequeñas fábricas tomaron su lugar, creándose una cultura industrial en torno a esta industria hasta nuestros días |
| English abstract | His article describes the rise and decline of the pioneer factory of the brooms industry in the metropolitan municipality of Cadereyta Jiménez, La Aldeana. It was founded in 1892 by local merchant and politician Eugenio Serrano. Due to the activation of the local market by the arrival of the railroad in those years, it managed to avoid commercial barriers, even during the revolutionary era. Its highest point was in the twenties, achieving conquer regional, national, and international awards. However, by the fifties the factory began its decline, mainly due to the management of finances. Its closure led to inscribe its name in the local memory, hundreds of small factories took their place creating an industrial culture around this industry to this day |
