| Spanish abstract | Giorgi y Longobardi (1991) proponen que el orden básico de palabra en la F(rase) D(eterminante), con un núcleo deverbal, en las lenguas romances es NOS y que los posesivos están semánticamente conectados con el núcleo de una manera más ligera, diferente al papel temático específico, por lo que no tienen papel temático y se realizan dentro de la FD en un estrato más alto. El propósito en esta investigación es establecer el comportamiento y la distribución que tienen los posesivos dentro de la FD en español. Para lograrlo hemos utilizado la Teoría de la Frase Determinante enmarcada en la Gramática Generativa Lexicalista. Los resultados obtenidos son que: (i) las formas átonas del posesivo o determinantes posesivos son núcleos funcionales de la FD, y (ii) las formas tónicas o posesivos son una FD no proyectada complemento de un núcleo nominal con o sin realización fonética |
| English abstract | Giorgi and Longobardi (1991) claim that the basic word order in the D(eterminer) P(hrases) with a deverbal head in Romance languages is NOS and that possessives are semantically connected to the head in a weaker manner, different from the specific theta role. Therefore, possessives do not have a theta role and are realized within the DP in a higher layer. The aim in this paper is to establish the distribution that possessives have within DPs in Spanish. In order to achieve this purpose the DP theory has been taken as a basis. The results were the following: (i) the possessive weak forms or possessive determiners are functional heads of the DP, and (ii) the strong forms or possessives are non projected DPs which function as complement of a nominal head with or without phonetic realization |
