Spanish abstract Objetivo. Se analizó el comportamiento de la producción científica del Centro de Neurociencias de Cuba indizada en la base de datos Web of Science durante el período 2000-2019, a partir de la aplicación de indicadores bibliométricos de productividad y de colaboración. Diseño/Metodología/Enfoque. El estudio presenta un enfoque cuantitativo de carácter descriptivo, además de un diseño no experimental y transversal. Resultados/Discusión. Ciertos resultados obtenidos refieren que hay pocos autores muy productivos y que la mayoría asume la investigación desde la colaboración científica. Conclusiones. Con el crecimiento de la ciencia, sus diferentes campos y la evolución de la sociedad, es cada vez más necesaria la labor investigativa que realizan los científicos, siendo esta un aspecto que propicia el progreso de las naciones. Originalidad/Valor. Los resultados alcanzados en esta investigación, contribuyen a la toma de decisiones en relación con la gestión de la actividad científica de este centro
English abstract Objective. The behavior of the scientific production of the Center for Neurosciences of Cuba indexed in the Web of Science database during the period 2000-2019 was analyzed, based on the application of bibliometric indicators of productivity and collaboration. Design/Methodology/Approach. The study presents a descriptive quantitative approach, in addition to a non-experimental and cross- sectional design. Results/Discusion. Certain results obtained refer that there are few very productive authors and that the majority undertake the research from scientific collaboration, Conclusions. With the growth of science, its different fields and the evolution of society, the research work carried out by scientists is increasingly necessary, this being an aspect that favors the progress of nations. Originality/Value. The results achieved in this research contribute to decision-making in relation to the management of the scientific activity of this center
