| Spanish abstract | Se propone el análisis multinivel de películas para fomentar metaaprendizaje y meta-cognición, ejemplificándolo con La duda (Doubt), filme que adquiere una renovada actualidad tras conocerse diversas denuncias sobre pedofilia y abuso sexual por parte de sacerdotes y educadores. Se examinan seis dimensiones del filme (interpersonal, intra-personal, transpersonal, ideológica, simbólica y estética), y diversos niveles de comprensión y apreciación (descriptivo, inferencial, interpretativo, valorativo, introspectivo y creativo). Aunque el ejercicio sigue un modelo propio, en su elaboración se conjugan al menos cuatro aportes principales: la educación por el arte, la enseñanza para la comprensión, el enfoque sociocultural de la educación y la narratología cognitiva |
| English abstract | The present study posits a multilevel film-analysis to promote meta-learning and metacognition. As a means of exemplification, we will analyse Doubt (2008), a film that has acquired renewed significance after several accusations of paedophilia and sexual abuse have been made against priests and educators. Six different dimensions of the film are examined (interpersonal, intrapersonal, transpersonal, ideological, symbolical and aes-thetical), and diverse levels of insight and comprehension (descriptive, inferential, interpretative, valuative, introspective and creative). Although this exercise has a unique arrangement, at least four main contributions come together in the process: education for the sake of art, teaching for the sake of understanding, a sociocultural approach towards education, and the relevance of cognitive narratology |
