| Spanish abstract | Se describe e ilustra en detalle a Annona muricata L. “guanábana” (Annonaceae), una fruta utilizado como alimento en el Perú prehispánico. Annona muricata habita en las vertientes occidentales del Perú, alrededor de 7 o 59’54,2”-8º03’02,3” S, 78 o 40’09,1”-79º51’09,6” W y entre los 0-600 m de elevación. Se indaga sobre su conocimiento popular en la población norteña peruana (región La Libertad), quienes la utilizan como alimento desde épocas prehispánicas. Asimismo, se identifican y describen representaciones de la mencionada fruta en la colección de cerámica prehispánica que custodia el Museo de Historia Natural y Cultural de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego de Trujillo, Perú, con el fin de establecer las evidencias que demuestren que fue utilizada por los pobladores en estos territorios antes de la llegada de los españoles |
| English abstract | Annona muricata L. “soursop” (Annonaceae), a fruit used for feeding in Ancient Peru, is described and illustrated in detail. Annona muricata is found in the western slopes of Peru at 7 o 59’54.2”-8º 03’02.3” S, 78 o 40’09.1-79º51’09.6” W and between 0-600 m of altitude. We were interested in the common knowledge of “soursop” in the population of the North Coast of Peru (La Libertad Region), who use it as food since pre-Columbian times. Moreover, we identified and described depictions of this fruit in the collection of pre-Columbian pottery of the Museum of Natural and Cultural History at Antenor Orrego University, Trujillo, Peru, in order to establish evidences that demonstrate its use by the inhabitants of Ancient Peru |
