| Spanish abstract | Como consecuencia de su filiación liberal democrática, hay en Rawls una intención manifiesta de no querer priorizar ninguna concepción del bien, puesto que ello crearía conflictos en una sociedad que debe ser pluralista, progresista, liberal y democrática, de acuerdo con los supuestos políticos que sostienen su teoría. Por ello, sostiene Rawls, una teoría que persiga la justicia como valor supremo, ha de ser siempre “política” y no “metafísica”. Cabe cuestionarse hasta dónde es posible que la teoría rawlsiana permanezca exenta de metafísica y si existe realmente su tan mentada neutralidad de supuestos |
| English abstract | As a consequence of his democratic and liberal affiliation, Rawls manifests a clear intention of not assigning priority to any notion of good, since it would produce conflicts in a society that is supposed to be pluralistic, progressist, liberal, and democratic, in accordance with the political presuppositions which back up his theory. Thus, says Rawls, a theory that pursues justice as its supreme goal will always be “political”, not “metaphysical”. Finally, it becomes necessary to determine up to what extent the Rawlsian theory can survive without any kind of metaphysics, as well as if his somuch-defended neutrality of presuppositions actually exists |
