| Spanish abstract | El presente estudio busca visibilizar las experiencias de algunas migrantes centroamericanas transgéne-ro, transexuales y travestis en México. Al explorar el significado que estas personas atribuyen a las fronteras in-ternacionales y de género, se enfatizan diversas dimensiones de la transfobia como forma de violencia, identificando sus impactos en el contexto de la mi-gración. Sin embargo, es importante no victimizarlas, considerando que muchas de ellas ven en su propio viaje una transgresión que alimenta sus luchas, y simboliza una reivindicación tanto de su identidad de género, como del dere-cho a ser quienes son, libres de miedo y persecución |
| English abstract | The present study attempts to visibilize the experiences of numerous transgender, transsexual and transves-tite Central-American migrants in Mex-ico. By exploring the meaning given by these people to international and gender frontiers, this research aspires to em-phasize diverse dimensions of transpho-bia as a form of violence, identifying its impact within the context of migration. Nonetheless, it is important to refrain from victimizing them, as many consid-er their journey to be a transgression that nourish their struggles, while sym-bolizing a revindication of their gender identity, as well as of their right to be who they are, being free from fear and persecution |
