| Spanish abstract | Pocos saben que la domesticación animal fue un proceso frecuente en Mesoamérica y que la religión fue un factor fundamental. Considerando cuatro décadas de estudios arqueo-zoológicos en Teotihuacan, se convierte en un lugar adecuado para reconocer qué animales domésticos existieron en la ciudad. Las evidencias permiten establecer que en la urbe fueron creados tres tipos de cánidos domésticos derivados de perros comunes; los pumas y las águilas reales vivieron en esquemas de cautividad prolongada, lobos y conejos alcanzaron la condición de protodomesticación y perros comunes y guajolotes habitaban en la ciudad como parte de la herencia recibida por las culturas que les precedieron |
| English abstract | Few people know that the animal domesticación was a frequent process in Mesoamérica and that the religion was a fundamental factor. Considering four decades of archaeozoological studies in Teotihuacan, it turns into a place adapted to admit that domestic animals existed in the city. The evidences allow to establish that in the city there were created three types of domestic cánids derived from common dogs; the mountain lion and the golden eagles lived in schemes of long captivity, wolves and rabbits reached the protodomesticación condition and common dogs and turkeys lived in the city as part of the inheritance recibed of the cultures that they preceded |
