English abstract | Porto as a brand expands itself beyond the city named, located in the north of Portugal. By historical and geographical contingencies, e.g. the location near the Douro River, Porto became an important and rich trading center, which urged an expressive cu ltural heritage, listed by Unesco among the World Heritage Site. Even little regarded academically, the Feast of St. John takes place there annually and deeply involves the entire local population. This paper aims to deepen relations between this festival and the local identity using Castells treatment to the theme |
