| Spanish abstract | Masculino de 25 años de edad, el cual ingresa al servicio de urgencias del hospital, por sufrir accidente en motocicleta. El paciente se impacta sobre un camión. El paciente es portador de un síndrome poco frecuente llamado Síndrome Richieri-Costa-Pereira, que consiste en múltiples malformaciones de mandíbula y laringe; los huesos de la mandíbula no se unen, dificultades en la comunicación oral. En casos más graves los pacientes no pueden respirar adecuadamente y frecuentemente son candidatos a una traqueotomía. A su ingreso al hospital el paciente no se pudo ventilar, no se pudo intubar, fue rescatado con una mascarilla laríngea y finalmente intubado mediante una intubación retrograda |
| English abstract | A male overview of 25 years old, who was admitted to the emergency room of the hospital, by accident on a motorcycle. The patient had impacted on a truck. The patient is a carrier of a rare syndrome called syndrome Richieri-Costa-Pereira, consisting of multiple malformations of jaw and larynx; the bones of the jaw do not bind, difficulties in oral communication. In more severe cases patients can not breathe properly and are often candidates for a tracheotomy. Upon arrival at the hospital the patient couldn´t be ventilated and, intubation failed, he was rescued with a laryngeal mask and was finally intubated through a retrograded intubation |
