| Spanish abstract | La escritura jesuítica "del exilio" nos presenta una diversidad de información sobre las naciones del Chaco con las que los autores jesuitas habían convivido. Más allá del corpus extenso y rico en detalles estos escritos desarrollaron un cambio cualitativo, se hicieron más científicos en torno al espíritu de la época, ligados a la necesidad de producir conocimiento distante, analítico y basado en la recolección de datos y la observación empírica. En este artículo nos interesa revisar algunas de estas producciones elaboradas posteriormente a la expulsión de la Compañía de Jesús de los dominios americanos y su exilio en Europa. Tomaremos específicamente los textos de Martin Dobrizoffer, Florián Paucke, Francisco Burgés y Manuel Canelas, misioneros jesuitas que abundaron en descripciones de las etnias chaqueñas, sus costumbres, sus formas de vida, como así también su espacio geográfico como parte de su cotidianeidad |
| English abstract | The Jesuit writing "of exile" presents us varied information about the nations of the Chaco, which the same Jesuit authors had lived with. Beyond the extensive, rich and detailed corpus, these writings developed a qualitative change of orientation, became more scientific around the spirit of the time, linked to the need to produce distant, analytical knowledge, based on data collection and empirical observation. In this article we are interested in reviewing some of these productions elaborated after the expulsion of the Society of Jesus from the American domains and its exile in Europe. We will specifically consider the texts of Martín Dobrizhoffer, Florián Paucke, Francisco Burgés and Manuel Canelas, Jesuit missionaries who abounded in descriptions of the Chaco ethnic groups, their customs, their ways of life, as well as their geographical space as part of their everyday life |
