| Spanish abstract | Con base en la teoría de la identidad cultural en el arte o teoría del arte como sistema cultural presento un análisis mítico-literario de las múltiples escenas pictóricas plasmadas en el complejo y controvertido Vaso François, las cuales relaciono temáticamente entre sí. A partir de allí, sugiero que deben estudiarse como un "todo" y en relación con la forma de la pieza en que se plasmaron y no como mitos aislados, postura encaminada a argumentar que el vaso en cuestión tiene una unidad iconográfica y formal, pensada de antemano, cuyo paradigma o hilo conductor es el héroe homérico y sus tópicos más significativos |
| English abstract | Based on the cultural identity theory in art or art theory as a cultural system, the article presents a mythical-literary analysis of multiple and thematically related scenes depicted on the complex and controversial François Vase. In it, it is suggested that they should be studied as a "whole" and in relation to the form of the piece upon which they were painted, and not as isolated myths, the argument being that the vase in question has a preconceived iconographic and formal unity, whose paradigm or thread is the Homeric hero and the most significant themes related to him |
