| Spanish abstract | La revisión sistemática de los “Notopithecinae” de la Edad Casamayorense (Eoceno medio), incluidos en la Familia Interatheriidae (Notoungulata), permitió esclarecer el estatus taxonómico y nomenclatural de este grupo y de otros notoungulados paleógenos de Patagonia. En esta nota, se propone una nueva interpretación taxonómica de Acoelodus connectus, especie descrita en la Familia Acoelodidae por Ameghino y cuyo nombre fue sinonimizado posteriormente por Simpson con el ?Henricosbornidae Paginula parca. Tanto el holotipo de Acoelodus connectus como otros atribuidos a la misma especie y a Paginula parca se reconocen aquí como Transpithecus obtentus, un notopitecino casamayorense (Subedad Barranquense) de Patagonia |
| English abstract | The systematic review of the “Notopithecinae” from the Casamayoran Age (middle Eocene), included in the Family Interatheriidae (Notoungulata), allowed clarifying the taxonomic and nomenclatural status of this group and other Paleogene notoungulates from Patagonia. This note proposes a new taxonomic interpretation of Acoelodus connectus, species described by Ameghino in the Family Acoelodidae, whose name was subsequently synonymized with the ?Henricosbornidae Paginula parca by Simpson. Both the holotype of Acoelodus connectus as others specimens attributed to this species and P. parca are herein recognized as Transpithecus obtentus, a casamayoran (Barrancan Subage) notopithecine from Patagonia |
