| Spanish abstract | Este ensayo habla acerca de la construcción de mundos paralelos dentro de la trilogía de Pullman llamada La materia oscura. Considerando las diferencias y similitudes entre géneros literarios como lo maravilloso, lo fantástico y lo extraño, la autora identifica los rasgos distintivos de la obra de Pullman como elementos de lo maravilloso y hace una aproximación a los personajes principales de los tres volúmenes titulados: Luces del Norte, La daga y El catalejo lacado. Asimismo, el trabajo retoma algunos de los malentendidos que conciernen y subvierten el constructo tradicional de infancia y adolescencia mediante la propia concepción de Pullman respecto a Lyra, la protagonista, y el mundo que la rodea. | English abstract | This essay talks about the construction of parallel worlds inside Pullman’s trilogy called His Dark Materials. Considering the differences and similarities between literary genres such as the marvelous, the fantastic and the strange, the writer identifies the distinctive features of Pullman’s work as elements of the marvelous, and makes an approximation towards the main characters of the three volumes titled: Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. Also, the paper approaches some misunderstandings that concern and subvert the traditional construction of the child and the young person through Pullman’s own conception of Lyra, the protagonist, and the world that surrounds her. By these means, the author underlines the importance of Pullman’s literature through his collapse of patterns and moral values |
