| English abstract | The teacher should be conscious about his/her important position within the teaching and learning process as well as the formation of the students’ critic consciousness. This article discourses about how important is for the teacher to know the curriculum in which teaching should be relied on. It aids on the elaboration of a politic-pedagogic project involving the characteristics of the educational institution in which he/she works in, being aware of performing his/her duties ethically and professionally, as the formation of professionals is also a means of building up citizens who will actively be involved with society. The teacher’s work can be directly related to the way these future professionals will perform their duties |
| Portuguese abstract | O professor deve estar ciente da sua importante posição no processo de ensino-aprendizagem e a formação da consciência crítica de seus alunos. O presente trabalho discorre sobre como é fundamental que o docente conheça o currículo, com base no qual deve ensinar. Auxilia na elaboração do projeto político-pedagógico que envolva as características do estabelecimento de ensino em que trabalha, estando consciente de que deve apresentar um trabalho ético e responsável, pois a formação de profissionais também é uma forma de construir cidadãos que atuarão ativamente na sociedade. O trabalho do professor pode estar diretamente relacionado à forma como esses futuros profissionais irão desempenhar suas funções |
