| English abstract | The aim of this essay is to analyze the figure of the sophist Thrasymachus presented by Plato in Book I of Republic. Two understanding possibilities it are constructed. The first regards the concept of justice presented and defended by him. The second refers to Plato’s personal motivation to presenting Thrasymachus as a greedy, arrogant and aggressive sophist.
