| Spanish abstract | En este artículo se interpreta la teoría, práctica y evaluación de la historieta durante la Unidad Popular chilena desde aspectos contextuales y sociales, intermediales y culturales. La teoría se expone a partir del popular ensayo Para leer al Pato Donald (1972), de Ariel Dorfman y Armand Mattelart, y su crítica a la historieta capitalista como producto ideológico. Como contraste se estudiarán los cambios que se hicieron en las historietas de Quimantú y la evaluación de ellos. En estas historietas se producen distintas articulaciones entre narrativa visual, la política y la recepción del público lector, a la vez que se ponen a prueba las teorías políticas y culturales de la comunicación |
| English abstract | This article interprets theory, practice and evaluation of the comic strip during the Chilean Popular Unity from contextual and social, intermediate and cultural aspects. The theory is exposed from the popular essay How to Read Donald Duck (1972) by Ariel Dorfman and Armand Mattelart and its critique of the capitalist comic strip as an ideological product. As a contrast, the changes made in Quimantú’s comics and the evaluation of them will be studied. In these comics, different articulations are produced between visual narrative, politics and readers' reception, while political and cultural theories of communication are put to the test |
