| Spanish abstract | El escrito aborda el papel de la «invención» en el proyecto de la Unidad Popular, ligada a modos de asociatividad orientados a mejorar las condiciones de vida de las y los trabajadores. Dicha asociatividad se aprecia a nivel de sus imágenes, entendiéndolas como interfaces que suscitan puntos de encuentro y trayectorias inéditas. En función de esto, proponemos otros modos de hilvanar relatos sobre la Unidad Popular, mostrando que las imágenes funcionan como registros de lo múltiple, que emergen dentro de una formación social compleja y mutante. La primera sección del texto introduce una aproximación conceptual al problema, mientras que la segunda se centra en dos hitos de la UP que inscriben la invención como un eje articulador de la redefinición de lo social: la colección «Nosotros los chilenos», de Quimantú (1971-1973), y el edificio UNCTAD III (1971-1972). |
| English abstract | The writing addresses the role of «invention» within the Popular Unity project, in terms of modes of associativity that sought to improve worker’s living conditions. This can be appreciated at the level of its images, understood as interfaces that give rise to meeting points and unprecedented trajectories. Based on this, we propose other ways of stringing together stories about the Popular Unity, showing that images function as records of the multiple that emerge within a complex and changing social formation. The first section introduces a conceptual approach to the problem, while the second one focuses on two UP landmarks that inscribe invention as an articulating axis for redefining the social: the collection «Nosotros los Chilenos», by Quimantú (1971-1973), and the UNCTAD III building (1971-1972). |
