| Spanish abstract | Por razones ecológicas, sociales e históricas, la organización productiva y el consumo de la yerba mate en Argentina poseen un fuerte arraigo territorial. El estudio se propone caracterizar la estructura y los significados de esta producción, examinándola desde la perspectiva teórica de los Sistemas Agroalimentarios Localizados (SIAL). Además de la dimensión económica, se abordan fundamentalmente dos dimensiones de análisis centrales para el enfoque: la dimensión histórica y la dimensión identitaria. Seguidamente, se describe la historia reciente y encrucijadas actuales de esta producción en la Argentina, reflexionando acerca de las posibilidades de identificación y valorización de recursos colectivos presentes en su territorio. El trabajo se basa, de una parte, en un corpus de más de cuarenta entrevistas y notas de campo producidas en la provincia de Misiones entre los años 1998 y 2008 y, de otra, en el tratamiento de datos estadísticos y el análisis interpretativo de fuentes documentales |
| English abstract | For ecological, social, and historical reasons, the productive organization and consume of yerba mate in Argentine took deep roots in the territory. The aim of this study is to characterize the structure as well as the meanings of this production by examining it through the Localized Agriculture Systems theory (SIAL). Besides the economic dimension, two main dimensions of central analysis have been taken: the historical and the identitary. Afterwards, the recent history and the current crossroads of this production in Argentina will be described, emphasizing the identification and valorization of the collective resources in its territory. On the one hand, the study is based on a corpus of more that forty interviews and notes taken on the ground in the Misiones province and, on the other hand, in statistical data and the interpretation and analysis of documentary sources |
