English abstract In order to know the nutritional and pigmenting value of the Leucaena leucocephala fl our’s leaves, a feeding test in broiler chickens was made in the animal Production Experimental Unit. (APEU) from Rafael Rangel University. The area belongs to a tropical dry forest and the climatic characteristics are 450 m.s.n.m altitude, average / year rainfull 1960 m.m, average temperature 27,4 °C. 48 Ross chickens were used, male and female of three weeks age, were organized in four treatments: T 1,0 %, T 2,2 %, T 3,4 % and T4,6 % of Leucaena fl our’s respectively. Twelve chickens were putting together in a large windowless sheds of 2 x 8 meters, separated it with chicken farmer grid and with enough feeder and water bowls. In the balanced rations were provided by ablibitum, and variables of production: daily gain weight (D.G.P), food conversion, (F.C) fi nal weight (F.W), food effi ciency (F.E) and consumption were evaluated for thee weeks. The expected results, Statiscally analyzed by variation analysis (ANACAR) were not signifi cant in the treatments; numerically the behavior of (D.G.P), (I.P) and (F.C) were better for T3 (4 % HHL) and (F.W), for T2 (2 % HHL); the F.E, CT/bird were better for T3 (4% HHL) the most of pigmentation in beak, skin and tarsus were better for T2 (2 % HHL). We can say that Leucaena leucocephala’s fl our sets a valuable resource as an ingredient in the broiler chicken rations and it’s recommend to continue the researches on the application of necessary disciplinary actions in order to reduce the mimosina’s adverse effects
