| English abstract | The Bilingual Intercultural Community Educational Center "Mushuk Pakari" provides basic education to descendants of indigenous people established in the Quevedo canton. To contribute to the environmental education in the management of solid waste of the 262 students, from initial to seventh grade in ages 5 to 13 years, the methodology "Phenomenon Based learning" was applied as a pedagogical strategy of constructivism. The diagnostic phase included an initial Likert survey that showed that 79% mix the waste; the characterization shows 13 kg of waste on average weekly generation, where 27% of paper and cardboard, 26% of plastics and 20% of organic stand out. The results were the basis of the dynamic and participatory strategies that constitute the pedagogical game applied to promote ecological awareness. For each activity, an evaluated workshop and a final survey were applied. A comparative analysis was performed with the T-Student test with a significance parameter of 0.05. The statistical analysis verified the great contribution of knowledge for the classification of waste and the development of a behavior of waste collection disposed outside the containers, in the seven study levels. Learning oriented with 95% confidence, highlighted the report of the didactic and innovative methodology for obtaining an environmental culture constituted by knowledge, attitude and positive behavior; as a strategy for the environmental education plan for basic educational institutions. Supported by the highly significant difference (<.0001) for all levels of education between the results of the survey applied before and after. |
| Spanish abstract | El Centro Educativo Comunitario Intercultural Bilingüe "Mushuk Pakari", brinda educación básica a descendientes de indígenas establecidos en el cantón Quevedo. Para contribuir a la educación ambiental en el manejo de residuos sólidos de los 262 estudiantes, desde inicial a séptimo grado en edades de 5 a 13 años, se aplicó la metodología "Phenomenon Based learning" como estrategia pedagógica del constructivismo. La fase diagnóstica incluyó una encuesta inicial con Likert que reflejó que el 79% mezcla los residuos; la caracterización reveló un 13 kg de residuos en promedio semanal de generación, donde destacan 27% de papel y cartón, 26% de plásticos y un 20% de orgánicos. Los resultados fueron la base de las estrategias dinámicas y participativas que constituyen el juego pedagógico aplicado para promover la conciencia ecológica. Por cada actividad se aplicó un taller evaluado y una encuesta final. El análisis estadístico comparativo con la prueba de T - Student con un parámetro de significancia de <0.05, comprobó el aporte de conocimientos para clasificar residuos y recolectar residuos dispuestos fuera de los contenedores, en los siete niveles de estudio. El aprendizaje orientado con el 95% de confianza, destacó el aporte de la metodología didáctica e innovadora para la obtención de una cultura ambiental constituida por el conocimiento, actitud y comportamiento positivos; como estrategia del plan de educación ambiental para instituciones educativas de nivel básico. Sustentado en la diferencia altamente significativa (<.0001) para todos los niveles de enseñanza entre los resultados de la encuesta aplicada ante y después. |
