Spanish abstract El aumento de volumen de los ovarios es frecuente en las afecciones ginecológicas, pero no en edades tan tempranas de la vida. Se presenta el caso de una paciente de cuatro años de edad que fue remitida al Hospital Pediátrico Provincial “Pepe Portilla” de Pinar del Río por dolor abdominal. Se realizaron los exámenes físico y ultrasonográfico y se le diagnosticó un tumor en el ovario derecho. Se realizó anexectomía derecha; el estudio anatomopatológico confirmó el diagnóstico de teratoma gigante de ovario derecho
English abstract The increase in the volume of the ovaries is frequent in gynecological affections, but not at early ages of life. We present the case of a four-year-old patient who was referred to the Pediatric Provincial Hospital “Pepe Portilla” of Pinar del Río for abdominal pain. Physical and ultrasonographic exams were performed and a tumor was diagnosed in the right ovary. Right adnexectomy was performed; the anatomopathological study confirmed the diagnosis of giant right ovarian teratoma
