| Spanish abstract | El abordaje cervical con ligadura de los grandes vasos del cuello es un procedimiento que todo Especialista en Cirugía Maxilofacial debe dominar por la importancia que tiene en los casos de emergencia. Información del paciente: se presenta un paciente masculino de 48 años de edad con antecedentes de salud que es atendido en el Cuerpo de Guardia de urgencia tras ser agredido con un arma blanca en la región facial. Se realizó el abordaje cervical para controlar la hemorragia. Conclusión: el enfoque de estos pacientes tiene un carácter interdisciplinario. El paciente se recuperó totalmente de la intervención quirúrgica luego de una estancia en la Sala de Cuidados Intensivos, no presentó secuela alguna y obtuvo unas cicatrices muy estéticas en una de las porciones más visibles del cuerpo |
| English abstract | The cervical approach with ligation of the great vessels of the neck is a procedure that every maxillofacial surgeon must master because of its importance in emergency cases, where the control of these structures is essential when avoiding a fateful event. Case report: a 48-year-old male patient with a medical history who is treated in an emergency guard body after being attacked with a knife in the facial region is treated. Cervical approach is performed to control bleeding. Conclusion: the approach of these patients has an interdisciplinary nature. The patient fully recovered from the surgery after a stay in intensive care and has no sequelae obtaining very aesthetic scars in one of the most visible portions of the body |
