| Spanish abstract | En este artículo nos proponemos, en primer lugar, analizar la construcción literaria que de Madrid realiza Manuel Vázquez Montalbán en Asesinato en el Comité Central (1997 [1981]). En concreto, a través de la mirada del protagonista, trataremos de determinar qué visión se presenta del núcleo urbano y humano de la capital. En segundo lugar, utilizando como corpus de referencia la traducción que de esta novela realizó en 1984 Lucrezia Panunzio Cipriani, nos planteamos también reflexionar sobre cómo han sido trasladados al italiano los referentes culturales. En nuestro análisis nos focalizaremos fundamentalmente en las marcas culturales utilizadas por el autor en el texto original (to) para describir y representar la sociedad y cultura capitalinas. De hecho, el análisis de las técnicas de traducción utilizadas por Panunzio para trasladar al texto meta (tm) dichos elementos culturales nos permitirá determinar si se ha logrado mantener la carga cultural del to. Así pues, en el ámbito de la traductología nuestro trabajo se inscribe en la rama de los estudios de tipo descriptivo orientados al resultado de la traducción (Holmes, 1988; Hurtado Albir, 2004 [2001]) |
| English abstract | This paper first analyzes the literary construction that Manuel Vázquez Montalbán uses for describing Madrid in Asesinato en el Comité Central (1997 [1981]). In particular, through the eyes of the main character we aim to determine the vision of the capital city’s urban and human center. Second, based on the translation of this novel made in 1984 by Lucrezia Panunzio Cipriani, this paper discusses how the cultural benchmarks have been translated into Italian. This analysis focuses primarily on the cultural references used by the author in the source text to describe and depict the society and culture of the capital city. In fact, the analysis of the translation-techniques used by Panunzio to translate these cultural elements into the target text allows determining whether the cultural core of the source text has been preserved. Thus, in the field of translation studies, this work belongs to descriptive studies focused on the outcome of the translation (Holmes, 1988; Hurtado Albir, 2004 [2001]) |
