| Resumen en español | Los Hospices son definidos en muchos países como espacios diseñados para dar el mejor confort, bienestar, soporte emocional y espiritual, tanto para el paciente como a toda la familia, cuando los enfermos llegan a la fase avanzada de su enfermedad terminal. El objetivo de estos lugares es tratar que sus pacientes puedan disponer de los meses o días que les restan con una “gran calidad de vida”; mantenerlos libres de dolor, concientes y controlar los síntomas que se hacen presentes por la enfermedad en sí. Se busca que el ambiente sea lo más parecido posible a su hogar y que puedan también estar rodeados de sus seres queridos para así continuar con su vida familiar y morir con dignidad.
