Resumen en inglés | A successful cogeneration system design depends of several factors, and the optimal configuration can be founded using a steam and power simultion software. The key characteristics of one of this kind of software are described below, and its application on a process plant cogeneration feasibility analysis is shown in this paper, finally a study case is illustrated. Nowadays, efficient energy use is no only decisive facor in the productivity of an industrial plant, but also is a good mean to reduce pollution. Thus, productivity and ecology have turned the engineering standards and design criteria and philosophy to achieve a rational energy consumption. The steam and power generation in process plants, its one of the most sucessful measures for energy conservation, producing thermal and electrical energy from the same heat released by a fuel, with an important fuel and pollutantes emission reduction. These benefits have encouraged the cogeneration system inclusion in the new plant project and in existing plants to turn the utilities scheme to a cogeneration one |
