| Resumen en inglés | The article aims to analyze the role of prison in the capitalist order with reflections on how it became a repressive technology at the service of the interests of the State in dependent and peripheral capitalism established in Brazil, discussing its role in times of productive restructuring of capital in the control of the poor and black population. Based on a bibliographic and documentary study, the results showed that there is an intrinsic relationship between the formation and consolidation of the Brazilian national state and the configuration of the penal system in the midst of the transition to dependent capitalism, in which prison functions as an important technology of reproduction. of social, racial and gender hierarchies |
| Resumen en portugués | O artigo3objetiva analisar a função do cárcere na ordem capitalista com reflexões sobre como este se constituiu em tecnologia repressiva a serviço dos interesses do Estado no capitalismo dependente e periférico instaurado no Brasil,discutindo-se o seu papel em tempos de reestruturação produtiva do capital no controle social da população pobre enegra.
