| Resumen en español | En la presente ponencia se hace un estudio pormenorizado del cuento "¡Tierra!...", del escritor santandereano Pedro Gómez Valderrama, en donde se pretende demostrar cómo este escritor, bajo su prolífera pluma, busca, a través de la reescritura histórica, recusar la historia oficial al narrar una de las historias posibles del más importante acontecimiento histórico americano: su "descubrimiento". | Resumen en inglés | In this paper a detailed study of the short story "¡Tierra!", written by the santanderean writer Pedro Gómez Valderrama is undertaken. This text attempts to show how this prolific writer tries to challenge the official history by narrating one of the possible stories of the most important historical events in America: "its discovery".
