Resumen en inglés | In November of the 2002 and March of the 2003 the associations of reef fish of the east coast of the Bahía de Cochinos were taken a census of. The counts were carried out in 4 places spaced along this coast to intervals that range between 5 and 9 Km. In each place they settled down three stations that they corresponded with the biotopes of summits (3-6 m), shallow terrace (8-10 m) and deep terrace (15 m). The sampling method was linear transects (Brock, 1954). An increase of the abundance was evidenced with the increase of the depth. The four places presented similar and relatively low values of diversity in spite of the high relative number of species. The indexes of diversity and evenness diminished with the increase of the depth; the number of species behaved in an inverse way The structure strophic of this associations is dominated by the omnivorous ones, fundamentally for the family Pomacentridae. Although during the censuses great size hunters was counted, its abundance was very low which constitutes a overfishing evidence in the area |
