| Resumen en español | Dentro de los grupos marinos estudiados en el Parque Nacional Jardines de la Reina (PNJR) están los corales y los erizos, con referencias desde 1980 y 2011, respectivamente. En este trabajo se describen los primeros registros que una institución cubana realizó a Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS). Estos reportes son de especies de corales y erizos identificadas in situ, en estudios realizados en septiembre de 2015 y febrero de 2016 y 2017 en el PNJR. Para el estudio de los corales se ubicaron 10 transectos por sitio, de 10 m de largo cada uno, para un total de 140 transectos, 20 fueron situados en el escarpe poco profundo y el resto en crestas de arrecife. Para el censo de los erizos se colocaron 10 transectos de banda por sitio, en crestas de arrecife (60 en total), de 10 m de largo por 1 m de ancho. Se realizaron 165 registros de 28 especies de corales, 20 en el hábitat de escarpe poco profundo y 19 en las crestas de arrecife. Se identificaron 6 especies de erizos. Los registros se añadieron a la base de datos OBIS, con el objetivo de actualizar la información ya existente, en la cual hasta el momento no había figurado ninguna institución cubana. La información de corales y erizos del PNJR brindada a OBIS inicia la contribución de instituciones cubanas a dicha plataforma, la cual provee una base del conocimiento científico sobre datos globales, en temas de diversidad, distribución y abundancia de organismos marinos en formato estandarizado |
| Resumen en inglés | Within the marine studied groups at Jardines de la Reina National Park (PNJR) there are corals and sea urchins, with data references since 1980 and 2011, respectively. At his study, we describe the first records that a Cuban scientific institution made to an Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS). These reports were of coral and sea urchins species identified in situ from field sampling at September of 2015 and February of 2016 and 2017 at PNJR. For the corals study were placed 10 transects per site, every one of 10 m of large to cover 140 transect; 20 transects were placed at shallow scarp at the rest were placed at reef crests. For the sea urchin census 10 band transects per site were placed at reef crests (60), of 10 m long x 1 m width. One hundred and sixty-five records of 28 species of corals were made, 20 for the shallow scarp habitat and 19 for the reef crests. Six species of sea urchins were identified. The whole register have been added to the OBIS database, in order to update the information presented in this worldwide marine species database, which until now none Cuban contributions has been reported. Both the information of corals and sea urchins from PNJR given to OBIS begin the contribution of Cuban scientific institutions to this platform, which provides a base of scientific knowledge about global data, in issues of diversity, distribution and abundance of marine organisms in standardized format |
