Resumen en inglés | Vertical distribution of bacterioplanktonic, nanoplanktonic and microzooplanktonic fractions and their contribution to < 200 μ m biomass in oceanic waters around Cuba were analyzed. Samples were obtained at three levels (surface, the thermocline layer and the bottom of the photic layer) in four stations with different richness degree, in raining and dry seasons. Biomass was determined by standard methods, including cell counting and epifluorescence microscopy. The values of biomass were higher in the Northern than Southern oceanic waters as well as in the raining in relation with dry seasons. In general, the shallow stations (S 37 and N 57) showed higher biomass than oceanic stations in the three fractions analyzed. Nanoplankton and microzooplankton were the fractions that most contributed to the < 200 μm biomass at the photic layer in the northern oceanic waters. In contrast, the bacterioplankton was the largest contributor to the biomass < 200 μ m in the southern zone |
