| Resumen en español | En el presente artículo evoco al Instituto de Historia del Derecho tras el fallecimiento de Ricardo Levene, para continuar con el nombramiento de Ricardo Zorraquín Becú como director. Comienzo con una biografía de éste último para encarar los objetivos de Ricardo Levene que fueron cumplidos por su sucesor: continuar la obra del Instituto, lograr una cátedra autónoma de la disciplina y reunir a los especialistas de Historia del Derecho Indiano en un Instituto Internacional. A ello se suma la concreción de otros: mantener el nivel científico del Instituto, que fuera lugar de encuentro de profesores y alumnos, definir el carácter de la disciplina histórica-jurídica y su incorporación al plan de estudios de la carrera de abogacía, fortalecer las vocaciones por la disciplina y crear un instituto como sucesor de aquél para cumplir sus fines |
| Resumen en inglés | In this article I evoke the Institute of Legal History after the death of Ricardo Levene, and then move forward to the appointment of Institute of Legal History Ricardo Zorraquín Becú as director. I begin with a biography of the latter and then go on to analyze Ricardo Levene's objectives that were fulfilled by his successor: to continue the work of the Institute, raise legal history to the category of autonomous subject and gather Spanish colonial legal history specialists in an international institute. Added to such objectives were others, such as to maintain the scientific level of the Institute, make it a meeting place for professors and students, define the nature of the legal-historical discipline and include it in the syllabus of the School of Law, strengthen legal history vocations and create a successor institute to fulfill its aims |
