Resumen en español | Desde mayo de 2007 hasta principios de octubre, el canal Caracol TV presentó el programa ‘Nada más que la verdad’, el cual recibió contundentes críticas. Este trabajo esboza algunas de la difi cultades que presenta este programa en los campos ético, jurídico y educativo, así como en salud mental, al igual que muestra los cuestionamientos sobre la medición por parte del polígrafo y del poligrafi sta. Metodología:f El autor realiza 18 entrevistas con expertos en diferentes áreas según una investigación previa y temáticas que se plantearon. Resultados: Las entrevistas esbozan difi cultades de tipo ético respecto a la compra del derecho a la intimidad y al cuidado de terceras personas. Por otra parte, se muestran los posibles problemas jurídicos, los posibles daño a la salud mental de los concursantes y de terceros y los inconvenientes sobre la educación, la imitación y el alto índice de falsos positivos y negativos de la técnica utilizada |
Resumen en inglés | Beginning in May and through October of this year, the Colombian TV channel Caracol TV launched the show ‘Nothing but the truth’ which underwent fi erce criticism from its very start. The present article points out some of the fl aws of the show from an ethical, legal, educational and mental health perspective. It also reveals some of the diffi culties encountered in measurements when using the polygraph as a lie detection method. Methods: The author performed 18 interviews with experts in different fi elds according to previously set topics and previous research in the area. Results: The interviews refl ect serious misgivings from an ethical point of view given the fact that in the show the persons participating in it were paid to waiver their right to intimacy. The interviews also reveal that the polygraph is inaccurate as a lie detection method. They also state that the show is ridden with serious legal problems, possible mental health problems for the participants involved, and is inconvenient for education on the subject |
