| Resumen en inglés | This article presents and analysis the development of the telegraph in Brazil from the 1870 to the end of Second Reign, it compares this period with the former period, from the begining ages of the telegraph introduction in Brazil, in 1852, to the end of Paraguai´s war, and analysis the telegraph in those two period. The aim of this investigation was to analysis politics and economics influence, national and international, that gave to Brazilian telegraph the features acquired in the end of Empire. |
| Resumen en portugués | Este artigo apresenta o desenvolvimento do telégrafo no Brasil de 1870 até o final do Segundo Reinado, comparando esse período ao anterior, compreendido entre o ano de implantação do telégrafo no Brasil (1852) e o final da guerra do Paraguai, e analisa os telégrafos no Brasil nesses dois períodos. O foco desta investigação foi analisar fatores políticos e econômicos, nacionais e internacionais que deram ao telégrafo brasileiro a característica assumida no final do Império. |
