| Resumen en inglés | In this essay, I analyze the psyche of Jackson Pollock from some elements of his life story as well as his painting technique and creation. It is observed in this artist the unique relationship that the melancholic has with the body, which is the object of love and also hate. In a hypomanic inspiration that leads to action painting, the body is the place of perfection and the ineffable well-being: is the work of integrated art to painting itself. Exploring Benjamin’s and Lacan’s thoughts, I intend to reveal the relationship between the artist’s work and these manifestations of his psychic life |
| Resumen en portugués | Neste ensaio, analiso a psique de Jackson Pollock a partir de alguns elementos de sua história de vida, bem como de sua técnica de pintura e criação. Observa-se no artista a relação singular que o melancólico tem com o corpo, que é objeto de amor e de ódio. Na inspiração hipomaníaca, que o leva à action painting, o corpo é o lugar da perfeição e do bem-estar inefável: é obra de arte integrada à própria pintura. Explorando os pensamentos de Benjamin e Lacan, pretendo revelar as relações entre a obra do artista e essas manifestações de sua vida psíquica |
