| Resumen en español | El siglo XX, muy positivista, buscador de localizaciones, depositó varias actividades o procesos psicosociales en lugares donde fueran fácilmente ubicables, y de manera poco imaginativa lo hizo en el individuo, específicamente en la cabeza. Y así como llevó a cabo con la percepción y con el pensamiento, individualizó a la memoria y al olvido. Al igual que se hizo con la mente, al olvido se le posicionó en la cabeza, incluso en el cerebro. El presente trabajo hurga en el sitio de donde esto partió: es decir, la cultura, lo social. Para ello, brinda una hipotética tesis sobre el olvido social a través de rastrear su origen; acto seguido, lo caracteriza desde distintos ángulos, para luego dar paso a las formas que ha tomado; da muestra de su retórica y hace un breve recorrido para comentar la manera como ha sido puesto en práctica en diversos momentos y lugares. Al final, muestra de qué manera la memoria ha resistido ante los embates de los grupos que pretenden imponer el olvido, y el sentido que tiene recordar acontecimientos del pasado |
| Resumen en inglés | The 20th Century, as positivist as it claims to be, as a prospector of locations, deposited several activities or psycho-social processes in a place where they would be easily locatable; and not very imaginatively, it put them in the individual, specifically inside his head. It did as well with perception, and thought; as for memory and forgetfulness, it individualized them. Since one took control of the mind, it positioned forgetfulness in the head, inside our brain. The present essay digs the site where it was left: in other words, culture, the social thing. Thus, the essay offers a hypothetical thesis of social forgetfulness, tracking its origin; immediately afterwards, it characterizes forgetfulness from different angles so to step up to the different forms that has taken. It gives sample of its rhetoric, and makes a brief route of the way in which it has been put to practice at different times and places. In the end it shows how memory has resisted in the face of attack by the groups that have tried to impose forgetfulness, and the sense of remembering events of the past |
