| Resumen en español | En este artículo me propongo comentar los conceptos y argumentos centrales del texto "Habitar la ciudad" de Juan Carlos Mansur. En la primera parte del texto comento las nociones de «arraigo», «ciudad» y «proximidad» a partir de las intuiciones que algunos filósofos han tenido sobre ellos (S. Weil, M. Zambrano o Hesíodo). En la segunda parte, intento argumentar a favor de la idea de que la habitación más primaria es la que ocurre en la intimidad de la persona, y de ahí parte hacia el exterior, comenzando con la habitación propia, luego la casa, más tarde el barrio y, finalmente, la ciudad. Concluyo con la puesta sobre la mesa de algunos problemas de la ciudad contemporánea y apunto algunas ideas que sugieren el camino hacia el que tendría que ir el ciudadano y el arquitecto para hacer la de la ciudad un sitio habitable |
| Resumen en inglés | My aim in this article is to make some remarks on the main concepts and arguments of the text "Dwelling the City" by Juan Carlos Mansur. In the first part, I try to explain the notions of «roots», «city» and «proximity», by the insights that some philosopher’s had on them (S. Weil, M. Zambrano or Hesiod). In the second part I try to develop the idea that the most basic dimension dwelling rises in the intimacy of the person and, after that, dwelling expands to the exterior by dwelling the room, the home, then the neighborhood and, finally, the city. I conclude by mentioning some problems of the contemporary city and offering some ideas to suggest the path that citizens and architects should follow in order to maje the city a place suitable to dwell on |
