Resumen en inglés | Within ENAMI´s strategic frame and given the experience in high current density refining, the available capacity in the existing facilities and the short term electrolytic refinery deficit foreseen for the country, a capacity increase in ENAMI´s Ventanas Electrolytic Refinery from 240, 000 TPY up to 328, 000 tpy has been contemplated. The project is at present in the assembly stage. Chilen Mining and Metallurgical Rsearch Center, was requestet to carry out a critical analysis of the environmental impact of the project, the main conclusion of study is the fact that the project does not generate new environmental problemas, but existent ones may increase, remain of decrease due to enlargement or optimization of project.
