Resumen en inglés | ZnS is a promising material to be applied in thin film solar cells given its high reflectance and greater wavelength range to capture the solar spectrum. There exist recent researches involving the construction of theoretical thermodynamic models and experimental studies of the chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique of ZnS films preparation. This work builds on previous research by the authors. CBD-ZnS thin films were deposited at 60, 70, 80 and 90 °C as bath temperatures. The corresponding solubility and species distribution diagrams were obtained according to the bath temperature with the following concentrations and chemical reagents: 80 ml of ZnCl2 [0.02 M], 80 ml of SC(NH2)2 [0.2 M], 80 ml of NH4NO3 [0.85 M] and 200 ml of KOH [0.8 M] for the chemical bath. The deposition time was adjusted according to each temperature, with a maximum value of 300 min for 60 °C and 90 min for 90 °C. The bandgap energy measured on films was between 3.63 and 3.8 eV. The crystalline structure of the deposited ZnS films corresponds to cubic (sphalerite) phase and improves as temperature was increased. AFM-surface roughness, stoichiometry, and thicknesses of the deposited films are related to the bath temperature and the deposition time |
