| Resumen en inglés | Cuban migration through third countries and Mexico as the last border to reach the United States intensified since 2015. The US immigration policy until 2022 favored the crossing of Cubans through border fences, motivating the long migratory trajectories of Cuban women who did not want to jump into the sea. From a feminist approach and with a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were carried out to analyze the life stories of the women about their migratory transits from their departure from Cuba to their arrival in Mexico. Based on the construction of three migratory itineraries of Cuban women, we analyze the emotional dimension of their migratory experiences. The main results address uncertainty as the arti-culating axis of the set of emotions that are embodied in the experience of Cuban women during the migratory transit. The involuntary stay constitutes an emotional and bodily challenge for the women; the immobility of their expectations and their goals manifests within their bodies, constraining them to thoughts of sadness and uncertainty. In turn, they use their capital to face such circumstances; many are the strategies they use to generate hope and feel better: the constant search for alternatives; gathering inspiration from success stories, and the determination not to return drives them emotionally and physically to continue fighting against uncertainty. |
| Resumen en español | La migración cubana a través de terceros países y México como última frontera para llegar a Estados Unidos se intensificó desde 2015 a la fecha. La política migratoria estadounidense hasta 2022 favoreció el cruce de personas cubanas por las bardas fronterizas, motivando las largas trayectorias migratorias de mujeres que no querían lanzarse al mar. Desde un enfoque feminista y con un abordaje cualitativo se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad para analizar los relatos de vida de las mujeres sobre sus tránsitos migratorios desde su salida de Cuba hasta su llegada a México. A partir de la construcción de tres itinerarios migratorios analizamos la dimensión emocional de sus experiencias migratorias. Los principales resultados abordan la incertidumbre como eje articulador del conjunto de emociones que se corporeizan en la experiencia de dichas mujeres durante su tránsito migratorio. La estancia involuntaria constituye todo un reto emocional y corporal para las mujeres; la inmovilidad de sus expectativas y de sus metas se tensa en sus cuerpos, las afecta y las constriñe a ideaciones de tristeza e incertidumbre. Además, utilizan sus capitales para enfrentar tales circunstancias, muchas son estrategias para generar la esperanza y sentirse mejor; la búsqueda constante de alternativas; la búsqueda de apoyo también en historias de éxito y la determinación de no regresar las impulsa emocional y corporalmente a continuar luchando contra la incertidumbre. |
