| Resumen en inglés | The purpose of this article is to evaluate some of the distinctive features of what the author believes to be a church in the Old Testament . The focus of research is restricted to the events and narratives related to Eden (in keeping with the size constraints of this issue), although a few comments are made on the church during the times of Cain and Abel, as well as Enoch and Enosh. According to the author, it is possible to think in terms of a church in the fullest sense of the word during the times of the Old Testament. The marks of this church, which were initially observed in the context of the Garden of Eden, continued on delineating the contours of church life and practice throughout redemptive history |
| Resumen en portugués | O propósito deste artigo é avaliar algumas características distintivas daquilo que o autor acredita ser a igreja no Antigo Testamento. Por razões de espaço, o foco da pesquisa está restrito aos eventos e narrativas relacionados ao Éden, ainda que algumas implicações de suas conclusões sejam verificadas à luz de outros eventos anteriores ao Dilúvio. Para o autor, é possível pensar numa igreja no sentido mais pleno da palavra, ainda no período do Antigo Tes - tamento. As marcas dessa igreja, inicialmente expostas no contexto do Éden, permaneceram delineando a adoração do povo de Deus por toda a história do Antigo Testamento |
