| Resumen en español | Pensar la ciudad desde la imaginación simbólica nos sitúa en la experiencia cultural de nuestra relación con el mundo. La estructura del presente artículo pretende contrastar dos momentos de las ciudades venezolanas. Un primer momento lo representa las ciudades de la modernidad en el siglo XX, y en un segundo momento analizaremos cómo esas ciudades de la modernidad, alcanzaron en tiempo muy breve las características de una metrópolis. Por lo antes expuesto, nos hemos planteado como objetivo central analizar a la ciudad venezolana en tiempo presente y sus imaginarios desplegados en la historia, entendiendo lo imaginario como dimensión esencial en toda cultura y, cómo se expresan en la simbólica urbana a través de las nuevas formas de tecnología digital y su impacto en los imaginarios de la comunicación, así como los modos de reinvención de la realidad |
| Resumen en inglés | Thinking the city from the symbolic imagination places us in the cultural experience of our relationship with the world. The structure of this article aims to contrast two moments of the Venezuelan cities. A first moment represents the cities of modernity in the twentieth century, and in a second we will analyze how these cities of modernity, in a very short time reached the characteristics of a metropolis. For the foregoing, we have raised as a central objective to analyze the Venezuelan city in present time and its imaginary deployed in history, understanding the imaginary as anessential dimension in any culture and how they are expressed in the urban symbolic through the new forms of digital technology and their impact on the imaginaries of communication, as well as the ways of reinventing reality |
