| Resumen en español | El presente artículo analiza las dos principales publicaciones de autoría afroariqueña —Lumbanga. Memorias orales de la cultura afrochilena, de Cristián Báez (2010), y Afrochilenos. Una historia oculta, de Marta Salgado (2013)—en cuanto intervenciones políticas destinadas a expresar los posicionamientos de sus autores y autoras en el campo intelectual chileno y, en particular, frente a las políticas del multiculturalismo nacional, a las formas de reconocimiento que en este contexto se hacen posibles y a los racismos que en él se reproducen. Para ello se contextualizala aparición de autoras y autores afrodescendientes en el campo intelectual latinoamericano, la importancia de generar nuevas narrativas históricas “desde adentro” en el marco del movimiento afrodescendiente latinoamericano, así como las políticas multiculturalistas implementadas a nivel nacional desde la década de 1990. Finalmente, se analizan los textos en cuestión, concluyendo con una reflexión sobre la forma en que estostextos se sitúan en el campo político e intelectual chileno |
| Resumen en inglés | This paper analyzes the two main publications by Afro-Arican authors—Lumbanga. Memorias orales de la cultura afrochilena [Lumbanga. Oral memories of the Afro-Chilean culture], by Cristián Báez (2010), and Afrochilenos. Una historia oculta [Afro-Chileans. A hidden history], by Marta Salgado (2013)—in their quality as political interventions aimed at expressing their author’s positionings in the Chilean intellectual field and, in particular, in front of the politics of Chilean multiculturalism, of the forms of recognition that become possible in thiscontext and of the racisms that reproduce themselves therein. For that purpose, the appearance of Afro-descendant authors in the Latin American intellectual field, the importance of generating new historical narratives “from within” in the framework of the Latin AmericanAfro-descendantssocial movement, as well as the multicultural policies put into practice since the 1990’s are introduced. Finally, the texts themselves are analized, and the paper concludes with a reflection on the ways in which these texts situate themselves in the Chilean political and intellectual fields |
