| Resumen en español | La presente investigación muestra que los monstruos fantásticos han acompañado a la humanidad desde sus inicios. Se trata de seres que fueron, y siguen siendo, creados con la intención de simbolizar algo que resulta aterrador tanto para la sociedad como para cada sujeto en lo individual. Estudiar a dichas criaturas a lo largo de la historia permite advertir aquello que es rechazado para tomarlo como antiejemplo y deducir el ideal tanto de comportamiento como de pensamiento y apariencia; también, posibilita descubrir las amenazas y las expectativas. Dar cuenta de cómo han cambiado los monstruos y qué lugar se les ha proporcionado —mediante un análisis moral, social, cultural y antropológico, es decir, a través de un acercamiento histórico y contextual—, proporciona una interesante herramienta cognitiva. En este texto se parte, en primer lugar, de la interpretación de la monstruosidad y, posteriormente, se realiza un rastreo histórico y analítico del monstruo. |
| Resumen en inglés | This investigation shows that fantastic monsters have accompanied humanity since its inception. These are beings that have been created with the intention of symbolizing something terrifying for society, but also individually. Studying these creatures throughout history makes it possible to notice what is rejected in order to take it as an anti-example and deduce the ideal; talking about behavior, thought and appearance; it also makes it possible to discover threats and expectations. That is what happens with monsters and that is why giving an account of how they have changed and what place they have been given becomes a tool to access knowledge. This is the case in each of the monsters that are presented; moral, social, cultural and anthropological content is evident because having a detailed approach to these creatures, their history and their context, these data become visible. In this text, firstly, the interpretation of the monstrosity will be discussed, then a historical and analytical analysis of the monster will be found, and finally the final reflections. |
