| Spanish abstract | Este texto intenta reflexionar sobre algunas construcciones que se han realizado de los jóvenes chilenos respecto de la participación política. Se señala, que más que un desencanto con ella, hay un desencanto con una cierta forma de construir la política en Chile, la cual no tiene conexiones con la vida cotidian de los sujetos. Frente a esto, se arguye que los jóvenes siempre han tenido o construido espacios de participación y en éstos, han intentado reconstruir la participación y también la ciudadanía, tensionando las definiciones tradicionales de estos conceptos. Así, ciertas obligatoriedades que se intentan instalar como la inscripción automática en los registro electorales o el voto obligatorio, no conducirán a una mayor participación, si es que está no tiene algún significado para los jóvenes |
| English abstract | This text reflects about some constructions that have been made regarding the political participation of Chilean youth. The study indicates, that, more than a disenchantment with politics, there is a disenchantment with a certain way of constructing politics in Chile, which has no connection with the daily life of the subjects. In this light, the study argues that youth have always had or constructed spaces for participation, and in these, they have attempted to reconstruct participation as well as citizenship, stretching the traditional definitions of these concepts. Therefore, certain obligations that the government has tried to install, such as automatic inscription in the electoral registries or the obligatory vote, will not lead to greater participation if they have no meaning for young people |
