| Spanish abstract | El objetivo del presente artículo es esclarecer la manera en que el narrador Óscar Bustamante discute y tematiza en el discurso literario la constitución identitaria de los sujetos rurales del Maule caracterizados en dos de sus cuentos -"Mineral del Chivato" y "Último viaje"-. Dada la representación que de la sociedad rural se hace en las obras señaladas, la pregunta por la identidad surge de manera espontánea. La articulación del mundo narrativo, los motivos y personajes, constituyen una manera de abordar dicho tema. En los cuentos seleccionados se reescribe el proceso de modernización y los factores que gatillaron los cambios en el contexto y en la identidad del sujeto rural de la zona central de Chile durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, proceso que opera como marco referencial en las obras |
| English abstract | The aim of this paper is to clarify the manner in which the narrator Oscar Bustamante thematizes and discusses the identitary constitution of rural subjects in Maule, on literary discourse, represented in two of his stories -"Mineral del Chivato" y "Last Journey"-. The representation of rural society made in the Bustamante's Works shows an spontaneous questioning of identity. The articulation of narrative world, motives and characters adress this issue in a special way. Selected Works rewrite the modernization process and the factors that triggered the different changes in the context and identity of rural subject of central Chile, during the fi rst half of the twentieth century, a process that operates as a reference in the studied works |
