| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo tiene por objeto conocer diferentes “lógicas” con las cuales se manifiesta el trastorno depresivo; hacer una invitación a la reflexión particular del quehacer psicoterapéutico para que, a partir de la observación clínica, se facilite la comprensión de las diferentes lógicas con las que se expresa la depresión; señalar la necesidad de un abordaje integral que permita entender la dinámica de la enfermedad en interacción permanente entre los contenidos de orden psicosocial y cultural, y aquéllos que son consecuencia de la neurofisiología y de la bioquímica cerebral; facilitar la comprensión coherente e integral del fenómeno depresivo y enriquecer su conceptualización. Metodología. A partir de una definición clásica pero vigente de depresión se abordan los síntomas y signos cardinales de la enfermedad, y se identifican aquéllos que son consecuencia directa de la estructura neurobiológica, de la neurofisiología y de la bioquímica cerebral. Se particulariza en el análisis semiológico y fenomenológico de aquellos elementos cardinales que positivamente no se explican desde la óptica puramente orgánica del abordaje. Resultados y conclusiones. Se señala cómo la comprensión del fenómeno depresivo se facilita y enriquece si dentro del proceso psicoterapéutico se contextualizan y se articulan la observación semiológica, la interpretación ponderada del análisis clínico, la identificación de los significados específicos que aporta la cultura en el contexto social y el momento cultural en el que se realiza el quehacer psiquiátrico |
| English abstract | The present article pretends to create an insight into the different “logics” in which the depressive disorder manifests itself; to make an invitation to analyze the roll of psychotherapy as a helpful tool in which clinical observation enhances the understanding of the different “logics” that the depressive disorder shows; to point out the need of establishing an integral approach that allows the understanding of the dynamics of the disease in a permanent interaction between the psychosocial and cultural contents with those that are a consequence of brain biochemistry and neurophysiology; to enhance the understanding and conceptualization of the depressive disorder. Methods: Starting from a classic but updated definition of depression, the cardinal signs and symptoms of depression will be handled identifying those that are a direct consequence of the neurobiological structure, neurophysiology and brain biochemistry. A special interest will be placed in the semiologic and phenomenological analysis of those cardinal elements that are neither caused nor explained by the organic approach to the disorder. Results and conclusion: It is pointed out how the understanding of the depressive disorder is enhanced if within the psychotherapeutic process the semiologic observation, the interpretation of clinical analysis, and the identification of the specific meaning that the culture offers in a social context are properly articulated and contextualized |
