| Spanish abstract | El objetivo es analizar los aportes de Schopenhauer a los fundamentos de la cultura occidental del siglo XX, específicamente lo referente a la Voluntad y la representación. Conocido por su radical oposición al pensamiento hegeliano y por su pesimismo, Schopenhauer destaca por su discurso estético y ético, por su filosofía musical y por lo que Nietzsche heredó de él. Su asistemático pensamiento fue base de las profundas transformaciones surgidas en el ámbito artístico-literario y filosófico del siglo XX, y es corresponsable de la crisis de la modernidad y de los valores occidentales. En su vasta obra ensayística se revela la repercusión de esta sombría figura de la historia de la filosofía, en lo referente a la manera de ver el mundo; pero, sobre todo, en el modo de analizar la naturaleza del hombre hasta en sus aspectos más banales o desagradables |
| English abstract | The objective of this research is to analyze Schopenhauer’s contributions to the foundation of 20th Century western culture, specifically in reference to Will and Representation. Schopenhauer, known for his radical opposition to Hegelian thought and pessimism, is characterized by his aesthetic and ethical discourse, for his musical philosophy, and for what Nietzsche inherited from him. His non-systematic was based on profound transformations that arose in the artistic, literary and philosophical environment of the 20th Century, and is co-responsible for the crisis of modernity and occidental values. In his vast collection of seáis the repercussions of this sombre figure from the history of philosophy are revealed in reference to his manner of viewing the world, but more so for his method of analyzing the nature of man in all his most banal and disagreeable aspects |
