Spanish abstract Se presentan en este trabajo los acontecimientos y circunstancias que llevaron a la creación de la línea de investigación-creación en la Corporación Universitaria Adventista (UNAC) en el marco de la apertura y la validación de los procesos artístico-investigativos por parte de Colciencias en los últimos años. Igualmente se revisan los antecedentes, productos y los primeros proyectos de grado que se constituyen a partir de la línea. Seguidamente los autores discuten los paralelos e interacciones con otras líneas de investigación ya presentes en el sistema de investigación de la institución
English abstract This paper presents the events  that led to the creation of the artistic research line at the Adventist University of Colombia (UNAC) in the framework of the opening and validation of artistic research processes by Colciencias in recent years. The background, products and the firsts degree projects that are constituted from the line are also reviewed. The authors then discuss the parallels and interactions with other lines of research already present in the institution's research system
