| Spanish abstract | Durante las primeras décadas de vida de la nación mexicana, el catolicismo mantuvo el carácter de religión nacional. Por ello el ceremonial político y el calendario festivo se construyeron a partir de la liturgia católica e incluso se definieron imágenes religiosas “nacionales”. Más, la dinámica política, tendiente a la formación de partidos y la polarización de posturas afectó también las asistencias, las celebraciones y las imágenes, que terminaron siendo movilizadas a favor de ciertos grupos políticos |
| English abstract | In the initial decades of life of the Mexican nation, Catholicism maintained its position as the national religion. For this reason, the ceremonial and political festive calendars were based on catholic liturgy, and even religious images were defined as “national”. However, political dynamics aimed at the formation of political parties, and the polarization of positions, also affected public manifestations, celebrations, and the images, which ended up being mobilized in favor of certain political groups |
| Other abstract | Résumé: Pendant les premières décennies de vie de la nation mexicaine, le catholicisme gardait le caractère de religion nationale. Conséquemment, le cérémoniel politique et le calendrier festif se construisirent à partir de la liturgie catholique. Certaines images religieuses ont été définies comme “nationales”. Cependant, la dynamique politique, propice à la formation de parties voire à la polarisation de positionnements, influença aussi les assistances, les célébrations et les images. Cellesci furent même mobilisées à la faveur de certains groupes politiques |
